Kids Photography Boot Camp

How photograhy can boost your Child's Mental Health

We’re living through anxious times at the moment, and as a result, it’s more important than ever for our kids to have creative outlets that allow them to escape for a little bit.

There’s no right or wrong way to take a photo, so there’s no pressure on them to “get it right”. Instead, they can just focus on taking photos that make them happy.

Time spent taking photos can have a positive effect on your child’s well-being, boosting self-esteem, confidence, memory, and decision making... It also acts as a form of grounding which helps focus their mind in the "here and now" which in turn helps with overwhelming feelings of anxiety, giving them a tool to help themselves feel more calm and confident....

The creative process also provides opportunities to celebrate a their uniqueness, which is an important element of developing a strong sense of self. Photography forces us to live in the moment, and to pay attention to what’s happening around us, which is a form of mindfulness, and great for busting stress and anxiety.

It’s A Great Excuse To Get Outside, It Stimulates Creativity, Builds Self Esteem, They’ll be mastering a brand new skill, which can boost their overall confidence and mental well-being, so it’s a win win!

With all this in mind, our boot camp, aimed at 10-15 year olds, will give children the opportunity to explore their creativeness while learning the fundamental aspects of photography. There is no need for any fancy equipment, a camera phone is all that’s needed, and you never know, they could be the next Mario Testino or Lara Jade!

Boot camp will run for 5 hours, split over 2 days ...

Someone once said to me the one thing to make sure you have on your wedding day is a good photographer, and I couldn't have got anyone better than Kerry. 4 years on and I still look at them like I did the first time ... AMAZING!

Kerry made the shoot so much fun and it wasn't stressful at all which I thought it might have been. Kerry styled by girls perfectly and captured both of their personalities to a tee. I can't recommend Kerry highly enough! A very talented lady.

Nicola Rea
